Duck Lake Net Loft

The Powell River Salmon Society uses  net pens on  Duck Lake  to produce close to 600 000 Chinook annually. There are also net pens on Texada and at Willingdon Beach that are used for Chinook production in the marine environment. After the fish are released the nets are taken ashore and hung in a net loft. The nets are washed, dried and repaired before being rolled up and put away in preparation for the following year. Here is a look at one of our nets  hanging in the net loft.
