“How” and “When”

This video is close to a half hour in length. It is dedicated to our supporters. For those of you that take the time to watch all of it I am confident that you will appreciate it as a humble record of some of our history.

It is the “how” and “when”.

The Lang Creek Facility is the foundation of our salmon enhancement success. For some perspective, more than 275 000 adult salmon have been counted through the station since its inception.

In addition we have harvested approximately 40 million eggs at the site!

Each phase of the project was pre-fabricated at our Duck Lake site all while carrying out our regular fish production operations.

Even before the fabrication began, several gin poles and A frame lifting devices where constructed for lifting and moving steel around.

This project is evidence that great things can be done with very little resources. A small dedicated group that put local know how together with shear will and determination to do something for the good of our fish.

At the twenty four minute mark our first Coho can be seen leaping into the tanks. Another historic moment in our history!

Sometimes to understand where we are going we have to take the time to look back at how we got to where we are.

I hope you all enjoy this video as much as I did. Thank you to Philip Nakatsu for taking the time to pour over hours of video tape to put this together. Thank you to Alex Dobler for taking the time to shoot the original footage while carrying out the project.
