May 2011

May 2011 was hectic with rearing densities reaching maximum capacity. Fish releases and transports were carried out to all but conclude this year’s fish production plan. There is still some Coho rearing in the Mill that will be released in the coming week.   Shane

Our Coho eggtakes got underway in November 2010.  We managed several eggtakes that produced more than 267 000 eggs that are now in  incubation. Thank you for your support Shane

Our  community  immersed itself in  enhancement operations at Lang Creek  in October 2010. Eggtakes got under way, stock assessment activities continued and the schools were out participating in our educational programs. Our salmon enhancement community  rallied around the cause in a safe and effective manner to help our organization hit its production targets and educational objectives. [...]

The  fish rail sorting system at Lang Creek is paying huge dividends!  The new  system has lessened the amount of heavy lifting necessary to count and collect brood stock.
